On June 13th the Palencia Provintial Council reopens La Olmeda and its museum.

Several actions are intended to boost the provincial economy after the pandemic and they are described next.

 

  • Despite the fact that the coronavirus has changed everything due to the uncertainty, the  Roman Villa  La Olmeda, in Pedrosa de la Vega and its museum in Saldaña, along with other tourist resources of the Provincial Council, will reopen its doors next Saturday, June 13th, trusting that proximity tourism is more than ever a rising value.

  • All of them will do it with the security conditions established in the current regulations. As for the Roman Villa la Olmeda and the Villa Museum in Saldaña, with maximum capacity of 50 and 30 people respectively. La Olmeda  opening times will be from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Access will not be allowed after 2:15 or 7:45 p.m. The access ticket can be obtained by phone reservation, or on the site's website with online purchase. Villa Romana la Tejada will allow visitors only by booked appointment and from the date indicated.

     

  • Regarding the Marqués de la Ensenada boat, with a maximum capacity of eight passengers plus the two crew members, and with prior reservation at 664 20 14 15. The Juan de Homar boat, with a maximum capacity of ten passengers plus the two crew members, and with booked reservation at phone number 673 36 8486.

     

  • In addition to these own resources managed by the Provincial Council, several touristy resources  join the reopening initiative: San Pedro Cultural, the Museum of Cerrato, the Ursi Sculpture Museum and the Mining Interpretation Center. All of them have a collaboration agreement for opening and maintenance signed by the Provincial Council.Post Covid public price exemption. The economic and social situation caused by the COVID19 pandemic in our province and the different situations created by the various regulations governing the state of alarm and its implementation phases give the chance to  visit to  varied touristy resources and cultural activities of the Provincial Council, and at the same time the provintial institution guarantee free entry for local visitors. Diputación de Palencia has ruled in the Governing Board this morning that  which visitors  can access for free:

 

    • The natives or residents in Palencia with the presentation of the DNI (Identity Card) or for being under 12 years old. From reopening until July 31.

    • All people who have spent more than € 15 in any hotel and restaurant of the province (except overnight stays)  in the previous four days including the visit will get free ticket. If that consumption corresponds to more than one person, It will be entitled to one free ticket for every € 15 of consumption. This exemption will remain  until September 15th in all the resources ruled by this ordinance.

  • This initiative was already developed by the Tourism and Culture Services, and it was also a request from the businessmen of the sector in the meeting of "Palencia in progress" held with the tourist sector.

     

 

The different actions adopted for the reopening of the Roman Villa La Olmeda and its museum are described below.

 

  • New opening times: Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Access will not be allowed after 2:15 or 7:45 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. closing and eviction proceed.

     

  • Limited capacity and  reservation in advance: Through phone calls 979 119 997/670 450 143 or purchase online through the web www.villaromanalaolmeda.com.

     

  • The reservation of entrance to the VRO gives the right to the free visit, without guide. There is a recommended itinerary  to make the unguided visit easier. There is also a possibility of downloading the explanatory brochure in different languages ​​to the visitor's mobile device through the website or using QR codes upon arrival.

     

  • EXTRAORDINARY RATES: Only by Phone call reservation on 979 119 997. The causes of reduction in the price of admission must be accredited at the ticket office.

     

    • FREE ENTRY "NATURAL OR RESIDENT PALENCIA AND PROVINCE": € 0. Natural or residents in Palencia and province, with identity document that accredits it. The document must be presented at the box office upon arrival. Exemption valid until July 31, 2020. Pre-arrival reservation, by phone call to 979 119 997.

       

    • FREE TICKET “GO BACK TO BEING PALENCIA”: € 0. Any person who has consumed more than € 15 in any hotel and restaurant of the province of Palencia (except overnight stays) in the previous four days, including the visit to the VRO. If the ticket of  consumption corresponds to more than one person, it will be entitled to one free ticket for every € 15 of consumption. The consumption receipt must be delivered to the VRO box office for validation. Exemption valid until September 15, 2020. Pre-arrival reservation, by phone call to 979 119 997.

       

  • HABITUAL TICKETS: People who do not get any of the conditions described above, must avail themselves of the rate that corresponds below. These tickets will also have to be purchased in advance before the arrival at the VRO, through online purchase.  The causes of reduction in the price of admission must be accredited at the ticket office.

     

    • Adult ticket: € 5 / u.

       

    • Reduced *: € 3 / u. Group of 10 people or more; ESO and High school students over 12 years old; Students with ID; Holders of Youth Card; Holders of the Friends of Heritage Card; Retirees; Pensioners; Large families.

       

    • Special *: € 1.5 / u. Groups of 8 students or more; Personnel assigned to museum institutions; Teachers; Tourist guides; Journalists in the exercise of their professional activity; Members of National and International Associations of Museums (ANABAD, APEME, ICOM, ICOMOS, AECA, AIEMA, etc.); Researchers.

       

    • Free *: € 0 / u. Children up to 12 years old; Teachers or guides accompanying groups, up to 2 per group; Tuesday afternoon, LPC.

       

  • Maximum allowed capacities:

     

    • Inside the archaeological site 50 people simultaneously.

    • Inside the museum, 30 people simultaneously.

       

  • Obligatory use of the visitor's own mask, throughout the stay.

     

  •  Individual visit  or group visit of up to 10 people from the same coexistence unit is allowed. Interpersonal distance must be respected.

     

  • In the documents attached below, the different rules and recommendations are described before arrival, on arrival and during the visit. It is recommended to download the document and have it at hand at all times. Please read carefully.

     

  • When making the reservation, through a phone call or online purchase, you must choose the access strip, and the closing and eviction times will be taken into account, as well as the security instructions and the number of visitors allowed by the staff,  responsible for the villa. The stay within the site may not exceed one hour and the maximum capacity of 50 people inside simultaneously. In order to complete the entire tour, it is recommended to arrive punctually at the selected time. The time must be carefully chosen, since the reserve is only kept for 30 minutes.

     

  • If you arrive late, the reservation will be lost without the right to refund the amount.

     

  • Attention: The last morning and afternoon entry shifts only allow the tour in 30 minutes. There are no guided tours.
