The Roman Villa La Olmeda hosts a Roman mosaic pedagogical workshop on Sunday, March 13, starting at 12:00 p.m. The activity is free until the maximum permitted capacity of 25 people is reached. Taking advantage of the space where the workshop will take place, La Olmeda, we want to explain to the little ones the importance and characteristics of this type of rustic housing. We will get to know the figure of the musivario, a craftsman dedicated to the creation of mosaics, and we will learn how he carried out his work. To finish and consolidate knowledge, attendees will be able to make a small mosaic with ceramic tesserae reproducing some of the most repeated decorative motifs on Roman floors.__
The workshop lasts 1 hour and a half. To sign up from here:
Activity organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Junta de Castilla y León and the Santa María la Real Foundation, in collaboration with the Palencia Provincial Council and the Villa Romana La Olmeda, registered within the We Went Rome project for heritage education and dissemination of Roman sites in the autonomous community.
