The president of the Diputación de Palencia, Ángeles Armisén, and the economic promotion deputy, Luis Calderón; have visited this morning Villa Romana La Olmeda to see first-hand the new point of sale of the quality mark Food of Palencia, which today opens its doors. A new point of sale direct and that has as a novelty the concept of offering among its services the tasting of the club's products. All this in an incomparable enclave such as Villa Romana La Olmeda in Pedrosa de la Vega.
28 producers and 88 product references will be responsible for showing, buying and tasting to Palencia and visitors the flavors of the province under this seal, which is nothing more than the collection under one umbrella of the vast gastronomic heritage of our province. A heritage that undoubtedly contributes decisively to the development of the rural world through the creation of sources of wealth that, while maintaining agricultural and livestock activity and, of course, the authentic identification of this province.
A new showcase, which is also added to the one that the institution opened at the capital's train station in October 2016; and the presence that Alimentos de Palencia has in the network of networks through the web: www.alimentosdepalencia.es/com; through a more accessible, new, intuitive and innovative portal. Since 2015, it has received 723,818 visits. In order to carry out this project, a tender has been launched through an open contract. Finally, Ankus will be the company in charge of carrying out this service in Villa Romana.The objective of this initiative is not only the sale of products as such but also that this point, the most visited in the province with 67,630 in 2018, will serve to showcase the quality of our products.
With this new project is clear the commitment of the Provincial Council of Palencia to continue working on the support and revitalization of the quality mark Food of Palencia and the tourist destinations offered by our province.
