La Olmeda turns off the lights in celebration of "Earth Hour".

The Palencia Provintial Council say yes to the campaign. The Provincial Palace and the Roman Villa La Olmeda will remain off on March 27 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

 

The Provincial Council of Palencia adheres one more year to the “Earth Hour” initiative, which will take place this next Saturday, March 27, 2021. An event that consists of turning off the lights for one hour that day, between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 pm, as a symbolic gesture to raise awareness and make visible the necessary fight against climate change and the loss of biodiversity.

During this hour the provincial institution undertakes to turn off the lights of two of its most emblematic buildings: the Provincial Palace and the Roman town of Olmeda and to spread it.

On the one hand, through the town councils of the province, to which he has sent an email encouraging them to participate in the campaign, turning off the lights of their most relevant public buildings during that time, and on the other through the web and its social networks, to publicize their commitments and actions in favor of the connection with nature and for the climate. For this, it has published a banner on the website of the Provincial Council with access to the program page, where the objectives and scope of the program will be observed, as well as all the adhered bodies, municipalities, organizations and citizens.

Through social networks with the tags #ConéctateConLaNaturaleza in the #HoraDelPlaneta, messages of defense of nature will be provided these days, in accordance with the proposal of the organization itself.
